Bank Holiday December 1 2025: These States Have Closed Banks Today — Full List & Services

The Bank Holiday December 1 2025 notification has caused confusion among customers across several states as they look to complete month-start banking tasks. According to the RBI’s official holiday calendar, banks remain closed today in selected northeastern states including Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh due to local state observances and cultural events.

While banks in the rest of India are functioning normally, customers in holiday-affected states are advised to plan transactions accordingly. ATMs, UPI, net banking, NEFT/RTGS, and mobile banking remain fully operational, ensuring uninterrupted online services even during the bank holiday.

The Bank Holiday December 1 2025 comes at a time when many people pay EMIs, SIPs, loan instalments, and utility bills. Though digital modes are unaffected, physical cheque clearance and branch-level services will resume on the next working day.

Customers are encouraged to use digital banking options to avoid delays. Bank officials confirmed that clearing operations will resume without backlog tomorrow, and inter-bank transfers will not be affected.
